Taking the time to reflect on 2024 isn’t just about taking a moment to celebrate. It’s about recognising that it’s been a milestone year for BizCubed from which we’re springboarding into 2025.
We’re more prepared than ever to help our clients turn their data into competitive advantage, working with leadership and management teams, lines of business, sustainability teams and with the data, technology and analytics teams that support business objectives.
At BizCubed we set our clients up for continuous data operations improvement. As a CEO, it is critical to reflect on the year-that-was to inform continuous business operations improvement.
So, here are my thoughts on our 2024 highlights.
Leadership and Vision
In early 2024, in a major leadership transition for the business and for my own career, I stepped into the role of CEO. Now that I’ve celebrated my first year in the role, I want to sincerely thank the BizCubed team, customers, and partners for their trust and support.
It’s been a whirlwind year, filled with opportunities to share our strategic vision such as:
- SXSW Sydney — BizCubed made its second appearance at SXSW Sydney, where I had the privilege of stepping onto the SXSW stage for the first time. Joining Women Love Tech’s panel of experts, I shared insights on fostering innovation, driving environmental leadership, and the importance of mentoring in today’s business landscape.
- BizCubed Panel Event — I was proud to host and emcee our inaugural sustainability reporting event, which tackled the data challenges Australian organisations face in complying with new climate reporting regulations effective as of January 1, 2025. Our panellists provided inspiration, insights and practical guidance to help simplify sustainability reporting and enhance ESG reporting strategy.
- Game Changers – BizCubed was featured in Foyster Media’s Game Changers series, including an interview with myself and the founder of our data engineering firm, Zachary Zeus. https://gamechangers.com.au/tracey-spicer-interviews-rebecca-and-zachary-zeus-from-bizcubed/ Why? Because we think about data differently and we help businesses make better decisions.
Pioneering Sustainability with ESG123
The data challenges inherent in keeping up with evolving sustainability and ESG reporting regulations require robust data engineering solutions. This year, we introduced ESG123, a groundbreaking service designed to simplify compliance while embedding sustainability into daily business operations .
Nobody has the time to waste getting sustainability wrong – or getting the ESG efforts right but the reporting wrong. ESG123 is an advanced data engineering services suite that provides organisations with the tools to avoid these pitfalls by focusing on building reliable data processes and workflows that support accurate, repeatable reporting outcomes.
The businesses that succeed in this environment will be those that channel their resources into meaningful ESG improvements, rather than diverting them to compliance firefighting. ESG123 helps clients do just that, aligning their data operations to meet both current and future ESG demands while freeing up capacity to focus on strategic priorities. Our proven data engineering methodology ensures that gaps are identified and resolved, enabling businesses to confidently meet regulatory requirements and deliver long-term value.
Strategic Partnerships and Industry Leadership
Collaboration has always been a cornerstone of BizCubed’s success, and 2024 was no exception. BizCubed became a founding member of the Australian Digital Delivery Alliance (ADDA), an initiative that seeks to “Recode Australia” and provide an alternative to the Big 4 for government digital delivery projects. Our manifesto is available here: https://www.adda.community
Additionally, we announced a new partnership with trust architecture start-up and United Nations Transparency Protocol accelerator, PyxGlobal, aligning on shared goals to revolutionise sustainability and traceability. Find out more about Pyx here: https://pulse.pyx.io
Investing in Diversity and Talent
Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of our success. BizCubed is proud to be a woman-owned company with 50% of our management team and 47% of our employees identifying as female. This year, our career development program enabled several team members to progress from junior roles to data engineers, showcasing our commitment to nurturing talent across all levels. From executives to delivery teams, this investment in people strengthens our ability to innovate and deliver excellence.
A Legacy of Excellence: BizCubed Turns 18!
This year marked BizCubed’s 18th birthday! Over nearly two decades, we’ve established ourselves as a trusted partner for businesses navigating complex data ecosystems. Our delivery teams have played a crucial role in achieving these milestones, ensuring that our clients receive seamless and impactful solutions tailored to their needs. Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey so far.
Looking Ahead
Ok, 2024 is done and dusted. In 2025 our focus remains clear: to help organisations harness the power of data to drive efficiency, innovation, and sustainability. ESG123 will continue to be a central pillar of our work, empowering businesses to navigate the growing complexities of sustainability reporting with confidence and precision.
Whether you are an executive shaping strategy, a manager operationalising goals, or a delivery team member implementing solutions, BizCubed is here to partner with you and help you make better decisions, every day.
