International Women’s Day is more than a moment—it’s a movement. This year’s theme, March Forward for All Women and Girls, reminds us that progress comes from action, not just aspiration.

At BizCubed, inclusivity is embedded in how we work. Everyone’s voice is heard, and everyone has the opportunity to lead. Whether it’s applying for a project lead role or sharing ideas directly with management, our culture is built on valuing diverse perspectives.

We believe that investment in people means broadening opportunities, which is one reason why we practice team rotation—giving employees experience across operational roles at BizCubed and within client-focused teams. This approach ensures that everyone gains the skills and exposure needed to grow their careers.

IWD is also about celebrating the achievements of women in our team. Today, we’re highlighting Marcela Mejia Ortiz, who shares her perspective on workplace equality, professional growth, and what International Women’s Day means to her.

Education & Experience

Marcela is a junior data engineer and software engineer, with an original degree in industrial engineering. She followed that up with gaining web, coding and software development training, and gained 13 certifications in 2024, alone. Marcela’s passion is to create innovative data solutions that solve real world problems and add value.

I truly connected with the company vision and saw an opportunity to grow both personally and professionally as a Data Engineer.

There’s a strong focus on creating an inclusive environment where all voices are heard and valued. For example, everyone has the opportunity to apply for a project lead role, and everyone is encouraged to share their ideas and intentions with leads and the management team.

I absolutely feel that BizCubed invests in its employees equally. The company offers a range of opportunities for personal and professional development, regardless of role or background.
